Comment response meme
Stolen from my west coast friend Catherine. A couple of these are LiveJournal-specific, but most apply.
COMMENT HERE AND I WILL:
a) Tell you why I friended you. (no such thing as “friending” here)
b) Associate you with something — a fandom, song, color, photo, etc.
c) Tell you something I like about you.
d) Tell you a memory I have of you.
e) Ask you something I’ve wanted to know about you
f) Tell you my favorite userpic from your profile. (only applies to people on LiveJournal)
g) In return, please post this on your own blog.

I think we’ve probably done this before, but I can’t remember.

Ooh, I’m game!

Joyous:
b) Any number of things would be appropriate here, but I’m going to have to go with Bujold (and the Vorkosigan Saga in particular).
c) You never let me get away with only halfway expressing what I think about something. You always sit patiently and expect me to find the words, even when it’s hard. That’s good for me.
d) I think I’m going to go with my memory of what I think was your surprise when you learned that my first dance at Morningside was only my second contra dance.
e) We (meaning the majority of our friend group) spend a lot of time remembering what was bad about growing up. What was a happy experience from your childhood/teenage years?
f) This is a tough one, but I choose “auspicious pinwheel”. You look especially happy in that one.

Cat:
b) This one qualifies as a memory as well, but I’ll put it here. You turned me on to an entire band with this song. I have always associated the song with you. Besides, I happen to think this is one of the hookiest guitar riffs ever.
c) I don’t think you ever do anything halfway. You have bigger cojones than most guys I know.
d) Memories. How to choose? I remember how you wrote the best hand-written letters. I got the impression you wrote them in bits and pieces during class, and they always had decorations all over the margins.
e) Years ago I was talking to you on the phone one night when you asked me to talk to a friend who was there with you. You just wanted to give her a chance to snicker at my accent didn’t you?
f). Um. I decline to answer on the grounds that the answer may serve to incriminate me?

Chris:
b) Hmm… How about the fact that you’re our own personal Troma pusher?
c) I love your talent for finding comedy in the absurd. Great laughs, great times!
d) Hmm… well, the ones that popped readily to mind aren’t necessarily appropriate for public consumption.
Probably the best ones are memories of the night-after-PHE conversations here at the house, when it’s just a few of us left.
e) I think we share a little bit of musical taste in common. What’s one CD that you wouldn’t mind having on repeat?

c) often times I wish I was a little more feminine and could fit into the role that people expect me to, but I just can’t - if you ever met my mother you’d know why.
I wasn’t raised by a wallflower, which is why I’ve never BEEN one. But sometimes I wish I could let myself be more flowers and pearls and less bikes and leather - you know what I mean?
It’s hard to find a guy who can meet that or match that attitude I have, much less surpass that kinda attitude. Its funny, most of my guy friends admire that about me but most guys I get romantically involved with are intimidated by it. The ones I do find are scared and intimidated by me they never speak their mind, which drives me crazy!
d) Yeah that pretty much was how I wrote them. … as for the doodles, I can’t see a piece of paper and not draw on it. Never have been able to. If I have a pen in my hand and a piece of paper, that just happens - most of the time I do it unconsciously
e) More than likely. It was quaint to me back then. I am still a sucker for accents.
f) Oh that narrows it down to a couple. I have to send you a link to a special flickr set where you can see those in full

would you by any chance be willing to do one more?

Okay. Now that I’m past the concert and the busiest weekend EVAR…
Asai:
b) Hello Kitty. It was fun seeing you have fun in that store in Seattle.
c) I like how you never stop trying to figure yourself out. For myself, I’ve decided it’s a lifelong process. Don’t quit.
d) I remember a particular party where we were having lots of fun sitting and people watching. Need to do that again sometime.
e) Ignorant Caucasian question: How exactly does one type in a language that doesn’t have an alphabet?
